The organizing committee, IEEE Norway section and the Norwegian IEEE-OES chapter are proud to invite you to the OCEANS'13 MTS/IEEE Conference to be held in the world heritage city of Bergen, Norway, from 10-13 June 2013.
The prestigious OCEANS Conference, jointly sponsored by the Marine Technology Society (MTS) and the Oceanic Engineering Society of the institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE/OES), is a major international forum for scientists, engineers and responsible ocean users to promote, disseminate and exchange their knowledge, ideas, applications and scientific-technical advances in Oceanic Engineering and Marine Technology. This is done with the purpose of raising awareness regarding the important role played by the sea in our lives and our environment, and the use of technology to preserve it.
OCEANS'13 MTS/IEEE Bergen features to tutorials on special interest topics, a comprehensive technical program of lectures and presentations, a student program, and a large exhibit hall with products from numerous companies, all emphasizing in particular on
"The Northern dimension and Challenges"
Bergen - recognized as the unofficial capital of Western Norway and sometimes also referred to as the "Gateway to the Norwegian Fjords", is the perfect venue for OCEANS'13.
Being the second largest city of Norway, Bergen is easy to reach. Bergen Airport Fiesland (BGO) is well connected with both the capital Oslo as well as other Nordic cities. Direct flights from Copenhagen, Stockholm, Iceland, London, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. The airport is situated some 30 minutes by bus from the city center.
All hotels will be in walking distance to the conference venue, the Grieg Hall, which is situated in the heart of the city.
